Hyping this summer's slate of iMPACT! Wrestling episodes on Spike TV as "the biggest summer ever" in the history of the nine-year program, TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter touted via Twitter the soon arrival of a "big free agent signing." On the social networking service, two-time world champion Bill Goldberg immediately squashed the possibility of joining the Nashville-based promotion.

"I'm telling you now it would never happen," he said in response to a user asking him whether he is the individual in question.

The same Twitter user then wrote, "thank god for that I'd quit watching impact." In response, Goldberg quipped, "Yep.....you and the other 4 people."

A few months after Hulk Hogan's arrival to TNA Wrestling, the legendary grappler claimed that Goldberg was in negotiations to join the organization. Goldberg, however, debunked the claim, stating to TulsaWorld.com, “Pardon my French, but Hulk Hogan’s full of crap because I was never in negotiations with TNA."

As noted earlier here on the website, former WWE champion Dave Bautista responded to a fan Twitter question asking whether he is the individual Dixie Carter is referring to as a "big free agent signing".

"Seriously? I am a @WWE guy to the core," he wrote.

When asked whether he has anything against the promotion, he wrote, "no of course not."

I don't think anybody will be surprised to see The Rock top the list, but there are some notable omissions. Personally, I thought Randy Orton would figure somewhere due to his lucrative years at the top of today's WWE, and no doubt legends Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair would have been included were it not for their respective messy divorces.

Hogan, 59, is famous for taking pain on live television, but not this kind of pain. He posted a picture of the injury on his Twitter account, his hand burned and covered in blisters.
"Just had a radiator explode on my hand, OUCH," he tweeted.
He followed the tweet with a series of images as his burn worsened: "Double OUCH" and "Triple OUCH" as the blisters swelled.
Some of his followers weren't prepared for the gore in his photos, including the ones where he was treated at the doctor.
"I apologize for posting my burned hand photos, with all the feedback I now realize I really should take a moment before I make a decision," Hogan tweeted.

-- WWE will tape the July 29 RAW on July 23 in Laredo, Texas. They will then tape the July 26 Smackdown on July 24 in Corpus Christi, Texas and the August 2 Smackdown on July 25 in Houston, TX. They are taping the shows in advance because of tours in Australia and South Africa the next week.

And as a fan, my heart beats faster when I’m in the presence of greatness. Not just a great wrestler. Not just a great entertainer. Not just a great personality. After a savage Steel Cage battle with Brock Lesnar at Extreme Rules on Sunday, a physically battered Triple H was unable to continue in his match against impressive new Paul Heyman client Curtis Axel on Monday night's Raw.
On Tuesday, WWE.com spoke with WWE physician Dr. Michael Sampson, who gave an update on the status of The Cerebral Assassin.

"After the pay-per-view match on Sunday, we advised (Triple H) on Monday that he shouldn't wrestle because of head and jaw trauma he suffered from the sledgehammer attack by Brock Lesnar," Dr. Sampson explained to WWE.com. "Obviously, we saw what happened Monday night: He went against medical advice and tried to wrestle. Luckily, he pulled himself out."
After further evaluation, Sampson said The Game is still exhibiting some post-concussion symptoms and he'll be held out of action until WWE's medical staff can conduct further neurological tests.
"At this point, the neurological exams are all normal," Sampson added. "But we will continue to employ neuropsychological testing to get a better idea how he’s doing mentally, as far as reaction time, thought process and so on."
Sampson noted the additional neurological tests will likely be conducted near the end of this week, once The Game's headache has subsided.

Just one night after their epic Last Man Standing Match at Extreme Rules ended in a No Contest, the rivalry between WWE Champion John Cena and Ryback took yet another explosive turn.
Entering the Raw arena on May 20 behind the wheel of an ambulance, Ryback had plenty to say to the Kansas City crowd. Before he opened his mouth, however, the monstrous Superstar climbed atop the ambulance in a symbolic gesture of dominance. He then launched into a missive delivered to Cena and the WWE Universe, making strong statements about the brutal battle he and the WWE Champion engaged in just one night earlier.
Ryback then set the WWE Universe ablaze when he called out the Cenation leader, telling The Champ that the next time they meet will be at WWE Payback on Sunday, June 16, in an Ambulance Match!
As Ryback made abundantly clear on Raw, Cena may have walked out of Extreme Rules with his title intact, but he didn’t exactly walk out of the pay-per-view. Instead, the Cenation leader was strapped onto a stretcher and carted out of the arena. But he’s been beaten down before, and as the WWE Universe is well aware, Cena doesn’t know how to give anything less than everything he has.
Can the titleholder overcome his ever-hungry foe at WWE Payback? Or will Ryback finally “rule” as the new WWE Champion? Find out on June 16, only on pay-per-view!

ST. LOUIS — Ryback and WWE Champion John Cena threw everything they had at each other during Extreme Rules’ Last Man Standing Match.When the dust settled, it was clear both Superstars had hit the wall – figuratively and literally – and no man was left standing.

Who was the better competitor Sunday night? That remains a subject of debate. On the minds of the entire WWE Universe, meanwhile, is the wellbeing of the two match participants.

The bout was ruled a No Contest after 20-plus minutes of hard-hitting action culminated with a spectacular collision that not only brought the bout to an end, but also endangered the near-term careers of the WWE Champion and his top contender. While fighting on the entrance stage, Ryback bulldozed the Cenation leader through the entrance stage wall, sending sparks from broken light bulbs flying in the process.


Per the rules of the contest, which stipulated the winner must incapacitate his foe to the point of being unable to respond to a 10 count, official Charles Robinson had no choice but to rule the match over when neither The Champ nor Ryback could rise to his feet and break the count.

As WWE officials and medical personnel rushed to tend to the battered warriors, the WWE Universe inside Scottrade Center buzzed with excitement over the scene that transpired. Although it is too early to know the condition of either Superstar, Cena was removed from the scene on a stretcher, while Ryback left with assistance from officials. On the Extreme Rules Post-Show, cameras caught Cena removing his neck brace, getting off the gurney under his own power, and refusing further medical attention.

It was clear from the get-go that the Cenation leader was competing at less than full health. To even fight in the No-Disqualification, No-Count-out Match in the first place, The Champ courageously had to battle through a lingering Achilles tendon injury that would portend trouble in the most conventional of match types, let alone a Last Man Standing Match.

As it turns out, Ryback did not need to exploit Cena’s heavily taped ankle to gain an early upper hand. At the bout’s outset, the matchup looked wholly lopsided in the challenger’s favor.

Ryback plowed through Cena with his powerhouse offense. Although The Champ attempted his tried and true combinations, the effort seemed almost futile: Ryback brushed off Cena’s classic bulldog variation and ran through The Champ with a Lou Thesz press variant.

The top contender easily maneuvered the outsized Cenation leader. Screaming “easy” as he lifted Cena overhead in a gorilla press slam, Ryback demonstrated his power time and time again. He used a deadlift powerbomb on Cena, as well as a fallaway slam through a table. The latter impact kept the tenacious Cena down for a count of eight.

Ryback averted an Attitude Adjustment and connected with his “Meat hook” Clothesline, but a second attempt at his well-known lariat was reversed into an STF by the cagey WWE Champion. Cena appeared to knock Ryback unconscious, but the challenger made it to his feet at the count of nine.

Cena kept the momentum going when he countered a Shell Shocked into an Attitude Adjustment through a table — the second splintered table of the contest. Living up to his indestructible reputation, Ryback made it to his feet with one second left on the referee’s count.

As the action spilled into the WWE Universe, fans in the Scottrade Center got a close-up view of the heated battle. In fierce impact, Ryback slammed a piece of board, seemingly from a penalty box, against Cena’s skull. The Cenation leader joined his opponent in pulling out all the stops, later leaping out of the stands to splash Ryback through yet another table. The strategic Cena then got hold of a fire extinguisher, which he used to chase Ryback onto the stage. Two successive strikes with the fire extinguisher almost dropped Ryback for good.

Then, with Ryback positioned for an AA on the stage, fate took a turn for the worse, with Ryback spearing Cena directly into the set. EMTs were called for almost immediately as officials inspected the two warriors’ prone bodies.

The scary conclusion of the WWE Championship Match leaves in question the status of the WWE Championship scene and Ryback’s position as the top contender. As details emerge about the extent of any injuries suffered tonight, the WWE Universe is left to wonder just how the Cenation leader will recover from his first defense on pay-per-view of his 11th WWE Championship.

This episode of Impact Wrestling was the second installment from Tupelo, MS. The show featured a three way X Division title match, as well as a TNA World Heavyweight Championship contract signing.

Hogan starting out the show, booking Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles at Slammiversary, was a good move. That match has all the potential to be the match of the night, and it is definitely worth looking forward to. The part where Hogan calls out Abyss, just for Joseph Park to come out was funny, and it showed that Park's TNA tenure is not over. It was pretty evident that when D-Lo volunteered to fight Park, it would be another humiliating night for him.

I don't know what to take from James Storm's interference in the Chavo Guerrero vs. Bobby Roode match. He spat in Roode's face, but it seemed as if he was giving Roode a wake-up call. It should be interesting how this pans out.

The segment where Kurt Angle calls out AJ Styles, but Anderson comes out instead, appears to be a prelude to reveal AJ Styles's true colors. Yes, he did come out from the crowd and applied an enziguri on Angle, but I still don't believe that he will officially be a member of Aces and Eights.

Jay Bradley vs. Christian York was a bit lackluster, but not terrible. From all the exposure that York has had since he won the contract, he was the favorite to win. However, Bradley's CM Punk-logoed "Boom Stick" appears to be a better sell than York's gimmick for the time being.

Velvet Sky vs. Gail Kim was a decent match, but not anything special. The Knockouts division is in dire need of a resurgence. Lei'D Tapa should be called up as soon as possible.

The X Division Title match between Kenny King vs. Petey Williams vs. Chris Sabin was a bit slow-paced compared to usual. It was not a bad match in the slightest, but didn't live up to its potential either. Again I say, the division desperately needs more storyline development. If not, it will continue to be a disappointment.

Hernandez vs. Christopher Daniels was decent. The announcement that James Storm made postmatch was the most intriguing. Makes us wonder who James Storms's partner will be. Possibly a Beer Money reunion, with Roode leaving Aries to side with Storm? Even further, possibly a America's Most Wanted reunion? We shall see.

Joseph Park vs. D-Lo was quite predictable. Another D-Lo loss, putting him further in the Aces and Eights doghouse. Hopefully, the Abyss return was not one-off, because Abyss is needed to create a balance in the TNA vs. Aces and Eights feud right now.

The Sting and Bully Ray contract signing was interesting. The stipulation for Sting definitely made the match more intriguing. If Sting loses, he will no longer be eligible to wrestle for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship for the rest of this career. While many believe Sting should have already retired by now, he deserves a proper send-off. We shall see if he captures the title one more time.

Former WWE Diva Michelle McCool has finally broken her silence on the taboo topic of her marriage to The Undertaker. In collaboration with MichelleMcCool.net, the four-time champion candidly addresses her relationship with "The Deadman" in a video blog that will be released this summer. A teaser has been released where she appears to respond to critics attributing her lofty position in WWE to her influential partner rather than her ability to perform.

As noted earlier, the four-time champion will address her marriage and other topics in the vlogs, including her dealings with WWE head Vince McMahon. The synopsis of the teaser is as follows: "Michelle McCool is trying something different with MichelleMcCool.Net. For years, she's answered questions, written blogs, and has even tweeted back-and-forth on occasion with her Faithful Followers. This time, she's going to change it up -- she's going to vlog. In her vlogs, Michelle's at her most candid -- like you've never seen her before. She's talking about anything and everything, from her precious baby girl, to even her husband... yeah, him. Raw and real, Michelle doesn't shy away from controversy; it's a different side of Michelle McCool... the one you thought you'd never see."



Months after her spring 2011 retirement from the squared circle, McCool was asked in an interview if she received resentment from her colleagues due to her relationship with The Undertaker and responded, "Bottom line: People in our business are always going to look to find reasons to see the negative in somebody and to become resentful. I don't really know where it began: probably with me getting the tag as "Diva Search reject." But I don't know anybody who, if they had an opportunity like the Diva Search, they wouldn't jump at it. If they didn't jump at it, they'd be idiots.

"People can say what they want to say, but at the end of the day, I can look at myself in the mirror. I know how hard I fought. I know how many storylines I pitched. I know how hard I worked in the ring. I can't tell you the number of times I was one of the first people at the arenas or at TV, constantly trying to better myself. IS THERE A THIRD PAUL HEYMAN GUY?

Rumors of Paul Heyman scouting a third client have been running rampant throughout the WWE locker room. Is the mad scientist on the prowl for a 3rd "guy" (or girl?).

Austin Aries was fined over his incident with Christy Hemme on last week's iMPACT! Wrestling. To recap, Aries was coming out to the ring for his tag team match and Hemme screwed up the ring intro. Aries then backed Hemme into a corner and climbed the second rope, putting his crotch in Hemme's face. When asked about it on Twitter, Hemme called the incident "unacceptable" while Aries made a joke about it on the social media site.

Since then, both Spike TV and Dixie Carter condemned the incident and said it would be dealt with. Now, TMZ reports that Aries privately apologized to Hemme and acknowledged that it was over the line. TNA has fined Aries, though it is unclear how much.

Hemme has spoken with TNA and said she was "satisfied" with Aries' apology.

At this time there is talk of Big E Langston wrestling Mark Henry in a "Battle of the Strongmen" at SummerSlam.

-- The winner of the Jack Swagger vs. Alberto Del Rio #1 Contender's match at Extreme Rules will be getting his title shot against Dolph Ziggler on an upcoming RAW or SmackDown. The reason for this is because the company reportedly has plans in place for the upcoming PPVs already and do not want to alter them.

WWE SmackDown opened with Miz TV. The Miz's guests were Big Show and Randy Orton. Miz talked up Randy Orton and Big Show's upcoming match at Extreme Rules. Show trash-talked Orton. Orton talked about his decision to trust Big Show backfiring. He said this Sunday he will right that wrong.

Jack Swagger and Zeb Coulter interupt and come out. They talk about how this Sunday they will make Alberto Del Rio say "I Quit" or as they would say in his language, "No Mas."

Alberto Del Rio came out and said the only thing people will remember this Sunday is that Del Rio became the number one contender. He called Coulter "Jumanaji Man."

Mark Henry came out and talked about setting a world record for pulling semis. He said this Sunday people will remember him for beating Sheamus because he's the strongest man in the world.

Sheamus then came out and promised to leave Henry battered and bruised with welts this Sunday. Sheamus then said why wait until this Sunday and took a strap and chased the heels away.

1. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns defeated The Uso's. The Shield won after a Reigns spear. They were setting up one of the Usos for the triple power bomb when Kofi Kingston made the save. He hit the Shield with a chair and the Shield ran off.

Kofi and the Usos gave a promo, I think for the WWE App, about overcoming the Shield.

Back from break, Teddy Long entered. He said after the last segment he was ready for Extreme Rules. He set up tonight's six-man main event: Henry, Show and Swagger vs. Orton, Sheamus and Del Rio.

2. Brodus Clay and Sweet T (w/Cameron, Naomi) beat The Prime Time Players. Titus O'Neil cut an entertaining promo. He mispronounced Wichita and said real Prime Time Players went to Kansas University. The PTPers were in control early and Titus did his patented seal chant. Darren Young missed a running attempt in the corner and Tensai tagged in Brodus. Titus broke up a pin attempt, then Young got sandwiched by the big boys. Brodus hit a splash for the win.

3. Chris Jericho defeated Antonio Cesaro in 12:00. Fans chanted boring as Cesaro started in control at a slow pace. Jericho got them further on his side with a dropkick that forced Cesaro to regroup at ringside. Cesaro hit an upper-cut and some chops but got another drop kick from Jericho from the middle rope. Jericho reversed a suplex then hit the signature dropkick from the middle rope to the excitement of fans. Jericho missed a corner splash and vaulted out of the ring. Fans cheered him on as he recovered but Cesaro went back on the attack, throwing Jericho into the barricade.

Back in the ring, he got a two-count on the dazed Jericho. Jericho went for the walls of jericho but Cesaro struggled away. Cesaro lifted his knees on Jericho's moonsault attempt to regain momentum. The back-and-forth continued as Jericho got a near-fall. Jericho managed to barely kick out of a backbreaker. Jericho fought back from a sleeper and rolled up Cesaro for a two count. Cesaro earned his own 2-count immediately after and put the headlock back on. A weakened Jericho struggled to fight back and was taken down again. Jericho tried to break the headlock by backing Cesaro into the ropes but was unsuccessful. He finally broke free and scored an axe-handle from the top rope.

Fandango's gold stage setup fell in front of the Titan Tron but Jericho was oblivious. He attempted a top-rope move but was hit by the upper-cut for another near fall. Jericho put on the Walls of Jericho and Cesaro tapped out.

Summer Rae entered with Fandango seemingly closely behind. Jericho watched the stage but was attacked from behind. He quickly got the best of Fandango, who ran off, then Jericho hit Cesaro with a Codebreaker...

Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger were on the Tron for a prerecorded promo. Colter ranted against the government from a conservative standpoint, touching on shady IRS activities and the Benghazi situation. Colter blasted Del Rio and said he wasn't one of us. Colter questioned whether Ziggler was really injured or just afraid. He said he and Swagger were vilified for speaking the truth. He said real Americans never quit, but Del Rio would. He said Del Rio would quit, take his sombrero, and run back home. Swagger finished it off with "we the people"...

Sandow gave a promo from the stage about Miz and how his winning would come to a screeching halt and that Rhodes would embarrass him on Sunday...

4. The Miz defeated Damien Sandow. Miz made his entrance to a healthy applause. Cody Rhodes was on commentary. Sandow cowered at an attempted punch and rolled out of the ring, but Miz followed and nailed him. Back in the ring, Sandow gained the upper hand. Rhodes took the live mic and said fans should stand up and show respect for Sandow. Miz came back and grabbed the win.

5. WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn defeated Aksana. Aksana entered to cat calls from the crowd. Where were those for Cameron? Kaitlyn received a strong babyface reaction from fans who aren't shallow enough to root for the hotter diva just because she's hotter. Well done, Wichita. Aksana got in a couple moves, including a slingshot against the ropes. She taunted Kaitlyn and earned boos. Aksana was dominating for a while. A ridiculous "we want puppies" chant broke out. Aksana still dominating...waiting for this to turn around...still waiting...botched move...still waiting...redid the botch...Kaitlyn hits the spear for the win. Longer than normal Divas match, about 5-6 minutes.

6. Randy Orton, Sheamus, and Alberto Del Rio beat Mark Henry, Big Show, and Jack Swagger (w/Zeb Colter) in a six-man tag.
